This is for the information of PNAC-Family that the Annual General Meeting and Election of Governing body for SINDH NGOs Network on HIV/AIDS (SNNHA) were held on 13th May 2007 at Regent Plaza Hotel- Karachi.

The Actual program was planned on 12th May 2007, but 12th of May was a very painful and unfortunate day for us and due to the very bad and critical situation of Karachi, election committee decided to change the date and time of the event.

Despite of very stressed and shocking situation more than hundred members from all over the Sindh participated in the event and used their rights.

Respected PNAC presidium member Mr. Ishtiaq, Mr. Zubair Kiyani Technical Adviser IWW and Dr. Arshad Mehmood from SACP were the keen observer and as members of the supervisory committee who oversaw all the process of Election.

While Mr. Rafiq Khanani president Infection Control Pakistan, Mr. Yousuf Mulvi Advocate High Court and Mr. Qazi Siraj Senior Journalist of Daily Jasarat were the members of Election committee.

Election was held in a friendly, smooth and transparent manner. The penal of Mr. Shouket and Mr. Danish Channa were the competitor of the election.

Out of 103 registered voters 89 voters used their rights for voting. The final result of the election is as under.

·        Total Number of vote cast :        89

·         Rejected Vote :                       02

·        Votes for Mr. Shouket panel :     70

·        Votes for Mr. Danish panel :       17

 

Result:

    Mr. Shouket and his team were announced as winner of election 2007.

After the announcement of result, the Chairman Election Committee Mr. Qazi Siraj passed on good wishes to the elected members and the also thanked the members for their confidence on them.

Later on Mr. Ishtiaq, Mr. Zubair Kayani and Mr. Abid Atiq congratulated to the elected members and the representative of member NGOs and also expressed their satisfaction on smooth and transparent procedure of the election of SNNHA. They extended their full support and cooperation to the general body and elected members in future concerns.

Dr. Qamar Abbas and Dr. Anees were also present as guests on the occasion.
