MISSION
Prevention and control of HIV/AIDS in Pakistan
The Pakistan National AIDS Consortium (PNAC) is a network of 6 provincial/regional NGO networks throughout Pakistan. PNAC was founded in 2000 and is constituted of the Punjab AIDS Consortium (PAC), the Sindh NGOs Network on HIV/AIDS (SNNHA), the Balochistan AIDS Network (BAN), the Northwest Frontier Province AIDS Consortium (NAC), AJK AIDS Consortium and the Northern Areas AIDS Control Consortium (NAACC). Each provincial/regional consortium represents member NGOs, who work to prevent HIV/AIDS in Pakistan and/or to provide care and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS. PNAC does not currently have members, but instead represents the provincial/regional consortia at the national level and in the future will provide support and services, through a professional staff, to the provinces
In 2004, the European Commission (EC) and DFID funded a project entitled “Building-Up Rights-Based Approaches to HIV/AIDS in Pakistan: A National Civil Society Capacity Building Project.” Commonly known as the TAMEER Project, this programme aims to radically enhance the capacity of HIV/AIDS NGOs and to help them be effective and enduring partners in public-private sector partnerships fighting HIV/AIDS. This includes enhanced governance, as well as strategic, organisational, technical and project identification and management capabilities, and increased joint planning and coordination. The TAMEER Project is being implemented by Pakistan National AIDS Consortium (PNAC) other partners include Interact Worldwide Pakistan (IWP), KIT Health of the Netherlands, AIDOS from Italy, and the Centre for Population Studies of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
This post requires a highly dynamic trainer who can build support for and oversee a capacity building training programme throughout Pakistan. Essential facets of the role include working closely with the PNAC National Manager, assisting with training of trainers, scheduling, coordinating, and implementing high quality capacity building trainings to provincial consortia and member NGOs, providing support to trainers, and addressing future capacity building needs of AIDS networks in Pakistan through trainings or other capacity building activities.
With guidance and support from the PNAC National Manager:
· Oversee the capacity building trainings of the TAMEER project
· Facilitate overall implementation of TAMEER Project
· Facilitate personal and team development
· Ensure high-quality training programme implementation, as per the work plan, through facilitation with trainers and effective liaison work with national/ provincial consortia and executive bodies.
· Work with Master Trainers to ensure that each training of trainers is appropriate to the needs of the PNAC trainees and that each training module is appropriate to the needs of the participants in the provinces
· Assist with process of “adopting” training modules
· Assist with the process of translating and producing facilitation notes, participant manuals, handouts, and other training module components
· Attend all Trainings of Trainers
· Conduct trainings in provinces and capital
· Coordinate the scheduling of trainings in provinces and ensure that trainings occur according to pre-agreed training calendar.
· Serve as resource to all PNAC trainers, assisting with the preparation of provincial trainings as requested
· Monitor PNAC trainings in the provinces
· Ensure that all PNAC trainings in the provinces are of high quality and meeting pre-defined training objectives and participant outcomes
· Establish and maintain database of trainers and trainees
· Work with provincial consortia to ensure that they adhere to standards for training implementation, including meeting criteria for selection of training participants, use of participatory methods, emphasis on training outcomes, use of evaluations, and effective employment of lessons learned from previous trainings
· Establish and maintain a library of training materials and resources
· Ensure that training materials are published on the Tameer project and/or PNAC web site(s)
· Develop training evaluation process and ensure that all trainings are evaluated and the evaluation results are circulated and utilised to improve future trainings
· Develop a training report format and ensure that training reports are submitted for all trainings and ToTs
· Conduct re-fresher trainings, on training methods and content, for PNAC provincial trainers
· Re-design training curricula, as needed
· Design and implement new training modules, as time allows
2. Facilitate Overall Implementation of TAMEER Project
· Participate in the provision of technical assistance by PNAC staff to provincial/regional consortia, as requested or needed.
· With the PNAC staff assist with knowledge management processes, including the contributions to project publications and a project website
· Participate in TAMEER project planning and ongoing project development
· Assist with and contribute to TAMEER project reports to partners and donors
3. Facilitate Personal and Team Development
· Motivate, facilitate and support the personal development of your trainings team, including through appraisal.
· Provide recruitment and mentoring support to the Provincial/Regional consortia, as required
